Orthodox Church Of The Resurrection Of Our Lord In Narva / Description
Built: 1896The cornerstone of this Byzantine styled church (architect Paul Alisch) was set by the Russian Czar Alexander III. The golden iconostasis paintings from the workshop of the Moscow master Mikhail Dikarev. Some icons on the walls are older than the church, a rare carved crucifix by Tallinn baroque master Elert Thiele. The lower church (winter church) restored in 1996 and dedicated to the Saint Serafim of Sarov.
